Free Bitcoin QR Code Generator
A Bitcoin QR code holds your wallet address, and optionally an amount, a label and a message, in the BIP21 bitcoin: URI format. Scanning it with a Bitcoin wallet fills in the payment, so the sender doesn't have to copy a long address by hand, where one wrong character would send coins to the wrong place.
Use it for donations, invoices, point-of-sale signs or receiving from a friend. The code contains only public information, your receiving address, never your private keys or seed phrase. Payments to a reused address are publicly linkable on the blockchain, which is why many wallets suggest a fresh address for each invoice.
How to create a Bitcoin QR code
- 1Copy a receiving address from your wallet and paste it into the address field.
- 2Optionally enter an amount in BTC (with a period as the decimal point), a label such as your name and a message.
- 3Scan the preview with a wallet and check that the address matches exactly.
- 4Download the code as PNG or SVG.

- label (who is being paid) and message (what for) are percent-encoded.
- Legacy (1...), P2SH (3...) and SegWit or Taproot (bc1...) addresses all work. QRdx accepts addresses of 26 to 62 characters.

Is it safe to share my Bitcoin QR code?
Yes. It contains your receiving address, which is meant to be shared. Never put a private key or seed phrase in a QR code.
Which wallets can read it?
Most Bitcoin wallets read bitcoin: URIs. Support for the optional label and message varies between wallets.
Can I request an amount in dollars?
No. BIP21 amounts are always in BTC. Convert at the current rate, or leave the amount empty so the sender enters it.
